Ministry of Health Organizes National Health Work Meeting 2024

The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) will hold a National Health Working Meeting (Rakerkesnas) at the International Convention Exhibition (ICE) Bumi Serpong Damai (BSD), South Tangerang, Banten, on Wednesday (24/4) and Thursday (25/4).

This routine meeting, which is attended by more than 2000 participants and is held every year, is a strategy forum which will be attended by all provincial/district/city health services, RSUD, provincial/district/city Bappeda, Health Service Unit (UPK) of the Ministry of Health, representatives of ministries/ institutions, and other health development partners.

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) plans to directly open the National Health Meeting activities on Wednesday morning, then the Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin as chairman of the committee will submit a report. A number of Advanced Cabinet ministers will also attend this event, including Coordinating Minister for Human Empowerment and Culture Muhadjir Effendy, Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, Minister for Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform Abdullah Azwar Anas.

The National Health Work Meeting activities in 2024 have the theme "Health Transformation: Moving towards a Golden Indonesia".

It is hoped that from this National Health Work Meeting we will be able to find out the results of performance achievements in 2023, and the formulation of strategic steps to achieve future performance targets, especially after the publication of the Health Law No. 17/2023.

What will be different this time? Firstly, for the first time the government will align the preparation of the Health Sector Master Plan (RIBK) as a direction for the central government and regional governments in planning, budgeting and implementing health programs in the regions.

RIBK as mandated in the health law changes the paradigm in health planning from a money follow program to a money follow program. The health budget is not set at 5% or 10%, but rather according to priority program needs.

The two Health Laws emphasize health strategies on efforts to prevent people from falling ill through promotive and preventive programs. For example: we will intensify the implementation of screening for 14 priority diseases, including examinations to detect early risk factors for non-communicable diseases. For the health of mothers and children, we will expand examinations for congenital hypothyroidism, pregnant women have their pregnancy checked 6 times and intensify the national immunization program.

In order for this program to be achieved, we need to provide 100% of the health equipment for public health centers, pustu and posyandu which will be carried out in stages in 2024-2028 as well as the construction of 48 new health centers in 48 sub-districts.

Third, efforts to accelerate equitable access to health services in all regions will be intensified so that good access is not only concentrated on the island of Java but on several other large islands.

Equal distribution of referral services through the hospital network outreach program is carried out to increase access to services for heart disease, stroke, cancer and kidney disease.

This is done through supporting medical equipment for 34 provincial hospitals and 514 district/city hospitals, and providing specialist doctors and supporting health workers.

This event is also a communication forum to discuss obstacles and challenges, as well as find effective solutions in health development.

Apart from that, a number of regions that have been successful in improving the health of the surrounding community will also share their experiences with the participants present. These areas include the Cianjur District Health Service which will use the example of Permata Kamila, namely a local supplementary food program for pregnant women with chronic low energy (KEK) and toddlers.

Plantungan Kendal Community Health Center employees will share experiences regarding the implementation of primary service integration at the Community Health Center. The Papua Provincial Health Service will tell you about the Mass Malaria Medicine Drinking Program (Momal) which is useful for reducing malaria cases. The Jakarta Provincial Health Service will explain the implementation and management of electronic medical records. Variety activities will be held for two days, namely 24 and 25 April 2024.
